Training employees on corporate loss prevention and cash handling procedures. Ensuring ongoing adherence to these policies and procedures. Promoting and support the loyalty card program and chapters.indigo.ca, and advising customers of special promotions. Knowing the basic store layout, general store information and being able to answer general customer questions about the entire store. Recruiting and hiring top performing employees. Training and developing employees to consistently deliver our customer service commitment and to meet or exceed performance expectations. Identifying and developing a base of promotable employees. Scheduling Department staff effectively to maximize store productivity and operate within sales per labour hour guidelines. Controlling inventory, expenses and shrinkage within budget. Practicing effective shift management. Effectively managing performance through regular feedback, performance appraisals and corrective action. Cross-training employees in other departments as necessary. Fostering a positive working environment. Supporting and encouraging teamwork within entire store staff and within district stores. As Manager on Duty, ensuring that all staff are executing the Indigo selling process. Ensuring that you and staff understand and following company policies and procedures. Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time. Resolving all customer complaints in a manner that leaves the customer feeling satisfied and positive towards Indigo. Maintaining an objective perspective, balancing store needs and company directives. AND YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS : Previous supervisory experience in a retail environment. Excellent information systems understanding and human resource management. Availability to relocate within a 50 km radius of store is required. Some duties require heavy lifting and repetitive bending. May require prolonged standing. Exceptional interpersonal decision making and organizational skills. Thorough knowledge and understanding of retail operations policies and procedures.
